Time Division-Synchronous CDMA ( TD-SCDMA) is one of the 3rd generation international mobile telecommunication standards put forward by DATANG Telecom Group, approved by International Telecommunications Union ( ITU) and adopted by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project ( 3GPP).

Datang telecom is mainly engaged in businesses of Microelectronics, Software, Terminals, Communication Access, Communication Application and Service, etc.

TD-SCDMA mobile communication standard is proposed by the Ministry of Information Industry Academy of Telecommunications Technology ( now the Datang Telecom Group) in support of national authorities, based on years of research which has certain characteristics of the third generation mobile communication system standards.

Such a network would confirm China's status as telecoms standard-setter and promise a bonanza for local companies, such as state-owned Datang Telecom Technology and Hong Kong-listed ZTE, that have invested heavily in TD-SCDMA products.
